Impression Caps

Impression Caps let you set a maximum number of impressions a specific company should receive in a given month. This helps distribute your budget more evenly across your entire target list instead of letting a few large companies consume most of your impressions.

How it works

  1. Select one or more campaign groups or individual campaigns
  2. Set the maximum number of impressions per company
  3. When a company reaches the cap, Fibbler automatically adds them as an exclusion in your LinkedIn Campaign Manager
We recommend checking the Company Insights tab first to see how many impressions companies are currently receiving before deciding on a cap.

Monthly reset cycle

The impression cap operates on a monthly basis, running from the 1st to the last day of each month. If you activate it mid-month (e.g., on the 15th), companies that have already reached the cap will be excluded immediately.

At the start of each new month, all previously applied exclusions are removed and the process resets automatically.

Good to know

  • The impression cap is set at the individual campaign level. Even if you select an entire campaign group, a company will be excluded from each campaign individually once the cap is reached for that specific campaign
  • Due to restrictions in LinkedIn's API, it is currently only possible to exclude 200 companies per campaign per month. To optimize this, set impression caps to primarily limit the biggest companies that take up most impressions

Best practices

These recommendations are based on the company sizes you are targeting and the number of relevant people typically reached from each company.

  • SMB (10–250 employees): ~50–200 impressions per company per month. Assumes 5–20 relevant people from each company (roughly 5–10 impressions per person)
  • Mid-market (250–1,000 employees): ~300–800 impressions per company per month. Assumes 30–80 relevant people from each company
  • Enterprise (1,000+ employees): 1,000+ impressions per company per month. Assumes 100–300+ relevant people from each company
We do not recommend capping retargeting campaigns, since those audiences are smaller and you want maximum reach across all employees.
