Meta Ads FAQ

Q: Does this cover both Facebook and Instagram?

Yes. Fibbler reads your campaigns from the Meta ad account, so Facebook and Instagram placements are both covered by the same connection. They belong to the same campaign, so they are reported together rather than split by platform.

Q: How does Meta Ads company identification work?

When someone clicks your Meta ad and lands on your website, Leadfeeder's tracking script identifies the company behind the visit using IP-based company identification technology. The company is then enriched with firmographic data like industry, employee count, and country.

Q: Why do I have to add URL parameters to my Meta ads?

Google Ads gives us a click identifier we can resolve back to a campaign through their API. Meta does not, so the campaign has to travel in the landing page URL instead. The utm_id parameter carries the campaign id, and every campaign-level number is keyed on it. Without it we can still see that a company arrived from Meta, but not which campaign brought them. See Add the required URL parameters.

Q: Why is there no conversions column for Meta Ads?

Google reports conversions back to Fibbler and Meta does not. A conversions column reading zero would say your ads converted nobody, when the truth is that we never asked. Meta reports post engagements instead, so that is what the campaign table shows, and it is never presented as a conversion.

Q: How long until I see data?

After connecting your Meta Ads account, installing the tracking script and adding the URL parameters, data typically starts appearing within 24 hours. Only ads served after the parameters went live carry the campaign id, so campaign-level numbers start from that point rather than backfilling. The lookback windows (7, 30, 60, 90 days) become available as more data accumulates.

Q: Do I need a CRM connected?

Yes. Meta Ads features require a CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio, or Pipedrive) to be connected. The CRM provides the deal data that Fibbler uses to calculate pipeline and revenue attribution.

Q: How does cross-channel attribution work?

When more than one paid channel is connected, Cross-Channel Attributionputs what each channel cost next to the pipeline and revenue it influenced, one row per channel. You can see cost per influenced deal and cost per won deal side by side, and how much of each channel's pipeline another channel also touched.

Q: What happens when my trial ends?

After your 14-day free trial, you'll need to upgrade ($59/month) to continue using Meta Ads features. Your data is kept for 7 days after the trial ends, giving you time to upgrade before it's removed. See Pricing & Trial or our pricing page for full details.

Q: Can I use Meta Ads without LinkedIn Ads?

Meta Ads is an add-on to your Fibbler subscription, which requires a LinkedIn Ads connection. You need an active Fibbler account with LinkedIn Ads connected to use the Meta Ads features.

Q: Do I need the Google Ads add-on to use Meta Ads?

No. The two add-ons are sold separately and work independently. If you have both, they share the same tracking script and appear side by side in Customer Journeys and Cross-Channel Attribution.

Q: How are companies matched to CRM deals?

Fibbler matches companies using domain normalization. The company domain identified from a Meta Ads visit is compared against company domains in your CRM. If a match is found and the visit occurred before the deal was created, the deal is marked as "influenced."

Q: What's included in the 1,000 company limit?

The Meta Ads add-on includes identification of up to 1,000 unique companies per month. This is the number of distinct companies that visit your website from Meta campaigns. A single company visiting multiple times counts as one identified company.

Q: What happens if I connect multiple Meta ad accounts with different currencies?

Fibbler automatically converts all numbers into the currency set in your CRM so you get a unified picture across all accounts. No manual conversion needed.
